The Strategies for Developing the Concept of Multicultural Education in Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) and Diniyyah
Abstract
ENGLISH:
Objective: This study aims to explore strategies for developing the concept of multicultural education in pesantren and diniyyah in response to the dynamics of an increasingly diverse society. Methods: This study used a qualitative approach to investigate the implemented multicultural education practices and proposed strategies in pesantren and diniyyah. Data collection: Through in-depth interviews and observation. Data analysis: Document analysis focused on understanding the concept of multicultural education implemented, the barriers faced, and successful strategies in developing an inclusive educational environment. Results and conclusions: Pesantren and diniyah, as religious-based educational institutions, have great potential to be the driving force of multicultural education. Islamic values that teach tolerance, justice, and respect for diversity are important foundations in developing the concept. Contribution: This research enriches the literature on multicultural education, especially in the context of pesantren and diniyyah, which have unique characteristics compared to other formal education systems.

Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendalami strategi pengembangan konsep pendidikan multikultural di pesantren dan diniyyah sebagai respons terhadap dinamika masyarakat yang semakin beragam. Metode: penelitian ini menggunkan pendekatan kualitatif untuk menyelidiki praktik-praktik pendidikan multikultural yang telah diimplementasikan dan strategi yang diusulkan di pesantren dan diniyyah. Pengumpulan data: Melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi. Analisis data: analisis dokumen digunakan dengan berfokus pada pemahaman konsep pendidikan multikultural yang diterapkan, hambatan yang dihadapi, dan strategi yang berhasil dalam mengembangkan lingkungan pendidikan yang inklusif. Hasil dan kesimpulan: Pesantren dan diniyah, sebagai lembaga pendidikan berbasis keagamaan, memiliki potensi besar untuk menjadi motor penggerak pendidikan multikultural. Nilai-nilai Islam yang mengajarkan toleransi, keadilan, dan penghormatan terhadap keberagaman menjadi landasan penting dalam pengembangan konsep. Kontribusi: Penelitian ini memperkaya literatur tentang pendidikan multikultural khususnya dalam konteks pesantren dan diniyyah yang memiliki karakteristik yang unik dibandingkan dengan sistem pendidikan formal lainnya.
