Definition of Misconduct:
- Fabrication: The creation of false data or research findings that do not exist.
- Falsification: The intentional manipulation of research materials, processes, or data to misrepresent results.
- Plagiarism: The unauthorized use or misappropriation of another’s work, ideas, or findings without appropriate credit.
- Improper Authorship: Including individuals as authors who did not contribute significantly to the research or excluding rightful contributors.
- Authorship Manipulation: Adding or removing author names that do not accurately reflect actual contributions.
- Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest/Competing Interest: Failing to declare affiliations, sponsorships, or relationships that may influence the assessment of the manuscript.
- Research Ethics Violations: Failing to obtain ethical approval (for studies involving humans or animals) or neglecting to secure informed consent from participants.
- Copyright Infringement: Using copyrighted material without obtaining permission from the copyright holder.
Handling Allegations:
Editors, in collaboration with peer reviewers, will investigate all allegations following COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to ensure a fair and transparent process. If misconduct is identified before publication, the manuscript will be rejected. If discovered post-publication, At-Ta'lim : Media Informasi Pendidikan Islam will issue a retraction with a detailed explanation.
The editorial board may request responses from the corresponding author and involve independent experts, such as statistical reviewers, to assess the validity of the allegations. Institutions affiliated with the authors are also expected to conduct their own investigations when necessary.
In cases where misconduct is confirmed, At-Ta'lim : Media Informasi Pendidikan Islam may impose penalties, including a temporary or permanent ban on future submissions. Corrections, retractions, or retractions with replacement may be issued to uphold the integrity of the scientific record.
