Peningkatan DAGUSIBU pada Penggunaan Obat Diabetes Melitus di Tangerang Selatan

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the low level of public knowledge regarding diabetes mellitus medication management according to the DAGUSIBU (Obtain, Use, Store, and Dispose) principles, which can potentially lead to medication errors and an increased risk of complications. The purpose of this activity is to increase public awareness through an educational session at the Al Malik Serua Indah Mosque in South Tangerang. The method used was a participatory educational approach through lectures using PowerPoint media, leaflet distribution, interactive discussions, and evaluation through pretests and posttests. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the level of knowledge of participants, where the category of good knowledge increased from 20% in the pretest to 75% in the posttest after the intervention. These findings indicate that the DAGUSIBU outreach is effective in increasing public understanding regarding diabetes mellitus medication management. Based on the outcomes of the activities, it is recommended that this community service program be continued on an ongoing basis at the Majelis Al Malik Serua Indah as an effort to maintain and enhance the community’s knowledge and awareness regarding DAGUSIBU and the proper use of medications in support of improving public health.
