Focus and Scope
Manhaj: Journal of Research and Community Service focuses on the publication of applied research and community service activities oriented toward addressing social problems, empowering communities, and strengthening community capacity in a sustainable manner. The journal emphasizes the integration of scientific approaches, social practice, and ethical, cultural, and religious values within the context of community development.
Manhaj welcomes manuscripts that examine the planning, implementation, evaluation, and impact of research and community service initiatives involving active participation from communities and partner institutions. Published articles are expected to demonstrate academic contribution, practical relevance, and clear policy implications for community development at local, national, and global levels.
The Scope of Manhaj includes, but is not limited to:

Manhaj is a multidisciplinary journal and is open to contributions from academics, researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders committed to advancing community development through knowledge-based and responsible practices.

Peer Review Process
Manhaj: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat applies a rigorous, transparent, and fair peer-review process to ensure the academic quality, relevance, and integrity of all published articles. Every manuscript submitted to Manhaj is evaluated through a multi-stage review procedure before publication.
1. Initial Screening (Desk Review). All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to assess their alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and adherence to the author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.
2. Peer Review Process. Manuscripts that pass the desk review are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area.
3. Review Criteria. Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
a) Relevance to research and community service focus and scope
b) Originality and contribution to knowledge or practice
c) Clarity of objectives and problem formulation
d) Methodological rigor and appropriateness
e) Community involvement and social impact (for community service articles)
f) Quality of analysis, discussion, and conclusions
g) Ethical considerations and academic integrity
4. Editorial Decision. Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor in Chief, in consultation with the editorial board, will make one of the following decisions: accept, accept with minor revisions, revise and resubmit, or reject. Authors are required to address all reviewer comments clearly and systematically.
5. Revision and Final Evaluation. Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the editor and, when necessary, by the original reviewers to ensure that all comments have been adequately addressed. Final acceptance is granted only after the manuscript meets the journal’s academic and editorial standards.
6. Ethical Standards and Confidentiality. All reviewers and editors are required to maintain confidentiality throughout the review process. Manuscripts are reviewed solely for academic purposes, and any conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Manhaj adheres to principles of publication ethics and academic integrity in all stages of the review process.
7. Review Timeline. The peer-review process is conducted efficiently while maintaining quality. Authors will be informed of editorial decisions within a reasonable timeframe, depending on the complexity of the review and revision stages.
Publication Frequency
Journal Manhaj is published twice a year in May and November. Each issue number (issue) amounts to a minimum of seven (7) the title.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
