Identifikasi Permasalahan Persiapan Karir Siswa SMA di Kota Depok dan Kabupaten Bandung melalui Program Mentoring berbasis Goal Setting
Abstract
The rapid changes in the world of work and the need for high school students to have clear career goals are the background of this study. This study aims to analyze the career preparation problems of high school students in Depok City and Bandung Regency, particularly in setting specific, measurable, and realistic career goals. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), with participants from Depok City and Bandung Regency, who participated in three mentoring sessions facilitated by educational psychologists. The results showed that although students showed improvement in formulating more focused career goals, they still faced major challenges such as confusion in choosing the right path, lack of self-understanding, and the influence of social media that obscures their career choices. This study also emphasized the importance of in-depth self-exploration and critical thinking skills in career decision-making. These findings provide a significant contribution to the application of goal setting theory in the context of high school students' careers and the importance of ongoing guidance to prepare students for the dynamics of the ever-changing world of work
