Peningkatan Literasi Digital melalui Strategi dan Teknik Pencarian Informasi yang Efektif Menggunakan Operator Logika Boolean

Abstract


Digital society in this era needs to be equipped with digital literacy skills to avoid hoaxes and false information. Additionally, it can improve literacy skills, broaden horizons and knowledge, and enhance communication while protecting data privacy and security. The low ability of the community to find, evaluate, and utilize credible information remains a challenge in various regions, including East Flores Regency. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve the ability of the community, particularly teachers, students, and reading garden managers in East Flores, to understand effective and ethical information search strategies and techniques. The activity method is conducted thru a one-day interactive technical guidance (BIMTEK) organized by the East Flores District Library and Archives Service on August 11, 2025. The results of the activity show an improvement in participants' understanding of utilizing scientific search engines, using Boolean logic operators, evaluating source credibility using the CRAAP method, and applying citation ethics and the use of digital information. This activity makes a real contribution to strengthening digital literacy in East Flores, especially for the participants, namely teachers, students, and managers of village and school reading gardens.
