PENINGKATAN KAPASITAS PENGAWAS ASRAMA DALAM PENANGANAN PERTAMA KESEHATAN DI PONDOK PESANTREN

Abstract


Islamic boarding schools, as institutions of Islamic education, play a crucial role in shaping the character and knowledge of students, both in terms of academic and spiritual aspects. However, the communal and densely populated nature of boarding schools often presents unique health challenges. The limited availability of medical personnel and the lack of basic knowledge about first aid for minor health issues make the role of dormitory supervisors vital in maintaining the health of students. This community service activity aims to enhance the capacity and skills of dormitory supervisors at Pondok Pesantren Darul Amal Mukomuko in providing initial health care for students. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which involves active participant engagement through the following stages: (1) identifying the health needs and issues of students, (2) basic first aid training, (3) field practice mentoring, and (4) joint evaluation and reflection. The results of the activity show a significant improvement in participants' understanding and skills. Based on pre-test and post-test results, the average knowledge of ustadz and ustadzah regarding first aid increased from approximately 54% to 87%. At the same time, practical skills (simple CPR, wound management, and dehydration prevention) achieved an 82% success rate compared to before the training. Additionally, participants expressed confidence in their ability to perform initial actions for minor injuries.
