Abstract

Shallots are one of the commodities developed and included in the 2021- 2026 Sumenep Regency RPJMD and one of the development areas is in Guluk-Guluk District. The Al-Ikhsan Farmers Group in Pordapor Village and the Sumber Rejeki Farmers Group in Batu Ampar Village are in Guluk-Guluk District. Members of the farmer group cultivate shallots as one of their farming businesses. Both groups of farmers experienced problems, namely low production because their productivity was below the average shallot productivity in Sumenep Regency. The aim of the service program is to provide increased skills and knowledge for farmers regarding the use of bio-polyploid techniques on shallots. The method used is ABCD (Asset Based Community Development), which is an approach model in community development by inventorying the resources owned by farmer groups that support program completion. Based on the results of service activities, it can be concluded that the majority of farmers already know and apply the 7 stages of shallot cultivation. However, there is one cultivation process that is not in accordance with the SOP, namely in terms of controlling plant pest organisms, both in terms of type, dose and time for controlling pests and diseases. Additional and increasing knowledge obtained by farmers is the application of the bio-polyploid technique, so there is 1 additional stage, namely soaking the shallot seeds for 24 hours before the shallots are planted, with the aim of obtaining lots and large shallow seedlings. After soaking the bio- polyploid, one more stage can also be carried out, namely soaking the onion seeds with fungicide to prevent the occurrence of diseases contained in the onion seeds.
