Pembuatan Hand-Sanitizer sebagai Proyek Pembelajaran IPA di MTs NU Raden Umar Sa’id Desa Colo, Dawe, Kabupaten Kudus

Abstract

The purpose of implementing this community service is for students to get an overview of the hand sanitizer production process and show a positive attitude in science learning projects at the junior high school level. The manufacture of this hand-sanitizer using alcohol-based ingredients refers to the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO). The implementation of this community service program is in the form of assistance using a simple syntax from project-based learning. Participants of this mentoring activity were students at MTs NU Raden Umar Sa'id as many as 11 students and 9 students. Collecting data using observation techniques, documentation, and response questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out with descriptive narration and questionnaire response tabulation. The successes in assisting the making of this science learning project are, (1) the implementation of the mentoring stages smoothly which includes launching, monitoring, and evaluating; (2) ready-to-use hand sanitizer products were obtained, and (3) the positive responses shown by the students to the activities of making hand sanitizers. The majority of responses indicated the ease during the process of making products and there is a desire to obtain mentoring activities for the implementation of sustainable science projects.
