Abstract
This research is motivated by observational data indicating that the learning outcomes of 2nd-grade junior high school students in the field of “Imla” "Imla is also one of the compulsory subjects for second-grade students at Riyadlul Ulum Islamic boarding school. The purpose of this teaching is to provide a foundation for students in advanced studies in writing afterward. In the context of the background of this issue, this research identifies the research questions as follows: How is the teaching of spelling for second-grade students at Riyadlul Ulum Islamic boarding school? And, what are the solutions to overcome the problems in teaching imla for second-grade students at Riyadlul Ulum Islamic boarding school? The interview method is used to collect data by asking questions orally and obtaining oral answers, taking place between the researcher and respondents related to teaching spelling to students in the class."
