Kosa Kata Panggilan dalam Bahasa Serawai Di Desa Padang Kapuk, Bengkulu Selatan
Abstract
ABSTRACT: Vocabulary of Addresses in Serawai Language in Padang Kapuk Village, South Bengkulu. This study aims to describe the form, position, and function of the vocabulary of address in Serawai language used by the community in Padang Kapuk Village, South Bengkulu. Through a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation with native speakers of Serawai language in the village. The results of the study indicate that there are various forms of address used, both for relatives and non-relatives, which reflect the social and cultural relations of the local community. This study shows that the vocabulary of address in Serawai language in Padang Kapuk Village has a variety of forms that reflect kinship relations and the social structure of the community. These addressees function not only as a means of communication, but also as a means to express cultural values, social norms, and interpersonal relationships in Serawai society. Addresses have various functions in social interaction, including: Requesting Attention: Attracting the attention of the interlocutor; Social Interaction Controller: Maintaining the flow of communication and showing politeness; Showing Respect or Affection: Expressing feelings of respect, affection, or familiarity; Educating: Giving instruction or advice in a subtle way; Joking or Mocking: Creating a humorous atmosphere or, in certain contexts, delivering a subtle taunt.
