Author Guidelines

Details and Guidelines to Note for Manuscript Submission
Please carefully observe the guidelines below when you are going to write. Manuscripts that do not meet these guidelines will be returned to the author for revision, which may cause significant delays in the publication of your work.
Required Word Count
Please ensure that your manuscript follows the word count requirements 5,000-6,000 words (Journal Article)
All manuscripts must:

  • Be submitted in Microsoft® Word.
  • Be typed in Indonesian, Arabic, or English
  • Be written in an objective third-person perspective (using the terms "author" or "researcher" NOT "I" or "we")
Originality of the manuscript. Only ORIGINAL manuscript submissions will be accepted for publication. Manuscripts have not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
Revised manuscripts. Al Fitrah: Journal Of Early Childhood Islamic Education, will not publish manuscripts that are revised versions of manuscripts that you have published elsewhere. To be considered original, a manuscript must contain at least 80% new material with no more than 200 consecutive words (properly cited) repeated verbatim from any previously published work.
Teaching notes. If you are writing about a case study, provide additional teaching notes as a separate document from your manuscript. These notes will be presented to readers interested in adopting your work as teaching material.
Copyright. For those already familiar with Jurnal Al Fitrah: Journal Of Early Childhood Islamic Education, Jurnal Al Fitrah: Journal Of Early Childhood Islamic Education publication process, please note that PDF copyright agreements are no longer accepted. As part of the submission process, you and your authors will be asked to digitally sign an Author Warranty and Transfer of Copyright Agreement.
Plagiarism. Al Fitrah: Journal Of Early Childhood Islamic Education, takes the issue of plagiarism very seriously. All manuscripts will be checked for any plagiarism before they are accepted for publication. Please ensure that all information taken from outside sources is properly cited and that all thoughts are put into your own words. All instances of plagiarism will be returned to the author immediately for correction and may result in the manuscript being removed from publication.
Title. The title should be concise, specific, and effective, not exceeding 15 words.
  • Note that all titles must be in title case. To place a title in title case, the first letter of each word must be capitalized unless the word is a preposition (words such as “more,” “with,” or “between”), a conjunction (connecting words such as “and” or “but”), or an article (“a,” “an,” or “the”). The only exception to this rule is that the first word of a title or subtitle is always capitalized, even if it is an article, preposition, or conjunction.
  • Titles should never be in all capital letters (e.g., “CHAPTER TITLE” is incorrect; “Chapter Title” is correct;.)
Headings. Please format all headings as per the manuscript formatting template below. The names of the Headings in your body text can be customized to suit the content of your manuscript. Note that headings and subheadings should NOT be numbered (e.g., 1. Introduction, 2. Background, etc.).
Figures. A manuscript may contain no more than 20 figures. Any figures or tables that do not meet these minimum specifications will be returned to the author for correction. All figures must be submitted as separate files in .tif format. Please also note that it is the author’s responsibility to obtain permission to use any figures that are currently under copyright by a third party. Please see the figure guidelines for more information.
APA (American Psychological Association) Style. Please ensure that all information in your manuscript that is taken from other sources is supported by in-text citations. A minimum of 20 sources is required for each submission. Please also note that your references must follow “APA Style”. (The publisher will return your submission for correction if you do not format your references correctly. For more information and examples on APA Style, please see the Al Fitrah: Journal Of Early Childhood Islamic Education Template here.
Self-citation. Researchers may need to cite their previously published work to communicate ideas effectively in their current manuscript. While Al Fitrah: Journal Of Early Childhood Islamic Education, encourages the use of self-citations in these cases, it is important that the self-cited works do not account for, at most, 50% of the total references in the manuscript.
LaTex. LaTex files are NOT accepted because they are not compatible with Al Fitrah: Journal Of Early Childhood Islamic Education. As an alternative, we require that you use MathType (see “Equations” below).
Equations. If symbols or equations can be typed directly into Microsoft Word, please do so. Otherwise, we will need to use MathType to format all equations. Authors can download a free trial version of MathType here: http://www.dessci.com/en/products/mathtype/.
Copy editing and proofreading. It is essential that a complete copy editing and proofreading of your manuscript be done before submission to ensure correct English usage, proper grammatical structure, and correct spelling and punctuation. Manuscripts submitted to the publisher are considered to be in their final form and ready to be published as is.
Translation. Although the manuscript is translated, the manuscript submitted to Al Fitrah: Journal Of Early Childhood Islamic Education must be written in clear Indonesian with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Note. The Manuscript Organization and Formatting Template is designed for the purpose of standardizing manuscript submission and does not reflect how your work will actually appear in print. The format and design of the final publication are at the publisher's discretion.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with Al Fitrah: Journal of Early Childhood Islamic Education journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the Al Fitrah: Journal of Early Childhood Islamic Education journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
