Utilization of YouTube as a Teaching Media to Improve Understanding of Religious Moderation among Students of UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu

Abstract


This study was structured to describe the use of youtube as a teaching medium in increasing the understanding of religious moderation of students at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. Researchers are interested in conducting research at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu because there has been a UPT Center for Religious Moderation to boost understanding of religious moderation within UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu and has conducted lectures by utilizing the YouTube teaching media. The approach used in this research is to use qualitative descriptive with the reason that it can describe the facts or events that occurred during the research. The results of this study indicate that: Educators use YouTube in the learning process by carrying out two stages, namely the preparation stage and the implementation stage. In the preparatory stage, educators prepare a lesson plan (RPP) and then educators make videos or take YouTube videos that are already available on the YouTube page according to the learning materials. Furthermore, at the implementation stage, educators share YouTube video links to students and give them time to watch and understand the content of the video accompanied by questions or direct discussions with students to provide an understanding of the message that they want to convey from the learning process. Constraints faced in the process of using YouTube as a teaching medium are the instability of the internet network and the quota used for both students and the educators themselves. The solution that can be done to overcome this kind of problem is to send a video link to the WhatsApp Group so that you can play videos without having to switch to the YouTube application.
