PENGARUH PERMUKIMAN EMBONG ARAB DALAM KEBUDAYAAN ARAB DI MALANG

Abstract

Embong Arab settlement is one of the Arab ethnic settlements in Indonesia located in the city of Malang. The existence of the Embong Arab settlement in the city of Malang, from the beginning of its formation, also has many impacts and many influences from Arab culture, especially in the city of Malang itself. With the settlement of Embong Arab, the city of Malang has a lot of diversity and has a special bond with Arab culture brought by the Arab community of Hadramaut descent in the city of Malang. This research is included in qualitative descriptive research, data collection is taken and carried out by interviews, observations, and literature studies of related previous research. Once the data is collected, the existing data is analyzed and results in data reduction, display and conclusions. The results of this study revealed that the diversity of Arab culture brought by the Arab ethnic community in the Arab Embong settlement, not only from customs and art, but from several elements, namely cultural assimilation, marriage, economy, culture and language. All elements of Arab culture that are brought make the city of Malang richer in culture and make the city of Malang also has a distinctive of Arab culture. Cultural assimilation between Arab ethnic communities and local communities that occurred had a major influence on the unity of Arab cultures on the local cultures of Malang.
