Counter-Narrative Terhadap Hadis-Hadis yang Disalahgunakan oleh Kelompok Radikal: Studi Kasus di Pondok Pesantren Darus Sunnah Ciputat

Abstract


This study explores how the Darus Sunnah Islamic Boarding School in Ciputat develops a hadith-based counter-narrative in response to the misuse of religious texts by radical groups. Adopting a qualitative and descriptive approach, the research draws on in-depth interviews, direct observation, and an examination of digital materials produced both by the pesantren and its alumni. The findings show that Darus Sunnah’s counter-narrative strategy unfolds through three main channels. The first involves its official media Majalah Nabawi, the pesantren’s YouTube channel, and several social media accounts, which consistently disseminate moderate religious discourse grounded in hadith methodology. The second channel is a long-term youth development program for participants from Poso, which pairs hadith education with social reconciliation efforts in a post-conflict setting. The third emerges through digital platforms run by its alumni, such as the El-Bukhari Institute, BincangSyariah, Hadispedia, Harakah.ID, and BincangMuslimah.com, allowing moderate interpretations to circulate widely in online spaces. Taken together, the study suggests that the integration of classical hadith criticism with sensitivity to contemporary social-digital dynamics positions Darus Sunnah as an effective model for sustainable counter-narrative initiatives that support Islamic moderation in Indonesia.
