Integrasi Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Agama: Analisis Pemikiran Ali Syariati, Amin Abdullah, dan Ismail Raji al-Faruqi tentang Islamisasi Pengetahuan

Abstract


This article aims to analyze and compare the thoughts of three prominent figures in the discourse of the Islamization of knowledge: Ali Syariati, Amin Abdullah, and Ismail Raji al-Faruqi. These scholars offer different approaches in addressing the relationship between modern knowledge and Islamic values. Syariati emphasizes social transformation through revolutionary knowledge, while Abdullah proposes an integrative-interconnected approach that merges religious and modern sciences. On the other hand, al-Faruqi focuses on the reconstruction of knowledge based on the principle of tauhid as its core foundation. This study employs a descriptive-analytical method with a qualitative approach, relying on an in-depth literature review of the works of these three thinkers. The findings reveal that despite their differing perspectives, all three share a common goal: to create knowledge that is more ethical, humanistic, and aligned with Islamic teachings. The comparison highlights the relevance of each approach in the context of modern Islamic education, suggesting that a synthesis of the best elements from these approaches can foster an inclusive educational system rooted in Islamic values. In conclusion, these approaches can complement each other in developing knowledge that addresses global challenges.
